If you have ever been to NOLA, then you have heard the rhythmic sounds of the Treme Brass Band in the streets or at an event.
"Uncle" Lionel Batiste began playing the drums at the age of 11. He went on to be the drummer, vocalist and assistant leader of the Treme Brass Band. He was the essential role model and influencer for many blues and jazz musicians. Batiste sadly passed in 2012 but his legacy is vibrant and alive.
